Painting

2023 was a prolific year for me as a painter- oil, marble and pigment on fresco and birch. Rather than abstract expressionistic categories or non-figurative expressionistic paintings, I define them as topographical maps of life, love, and ideas about innovations, failures, deviation, and journeys. The work is a series of visualizations and moon craters exploring complicated crevices and divots of mistakes, sins, sadness and success. There’s joy baked into every one of my works. hashtag#Innovations in paint pigments, including neon glowing joyful colors, are finding their way into my work. Every mark, brush stroke and knife scrape is intentional - deeply influenced by music, air, weather and surroundings.
