#19 Cold Wax on Birchboard.

This series was created while I was traveling through the Palm Springs and Coachella areas, during the height of the Barbenheimer craze. I became obsessed with the wind turbines scattered across the landscape and was inspired to name these paintings the Coachella Barbies. They can be hung individually or purchased as a series to create a dynamic, connected display.

The artwork is an abstract composition dominated by large swaths of greenish-yellow tones that occupy the upper portion of the canvas. These areas are textured with subtle variations in shade and occasional vertical streaks of a darker hue, creating a sense of depth and movement. Beneath this expansive greenish-yellow field lies a narrow horizontal strip that acts almost like a boundary or divider. Below that, a bold section of vibrant reds and oranges bursts forward, blending and swirling with hints of white and muted grays. The contrast between the cool, somewhat muted greens and the warm, intense reds creates a dynamic tension within the piece, evoking a sense of energy and transition.
