This piece is painted directly onto a weathered wooden lantern—already full of character before I touched it. The grain of the wood guides the composition, pulling the brushwork in unexpected directions and adding depth to the surface.
 
Fluorescent orange, yellow, and magenta hues wrap around the form, casting a warm, almost electric glow when lit from within. The imagery isn’t meant to be literal—it moves like memory, soft and slightly out of reach. It’s a meditation on illumination—not just the light we see, but the kind we carry.
